Rules on Social Media Usage
Background to rule establishment
In recognition of the roles played by social media in dialogue and interaction with customers, GRANVISTA Hotels & Resorts (hereinafter referred to as “GRANVISTA”) has established a set of rules to encourage its employees and business establishments to make effective use of such media.
Comments made by staff through social media channels other than official GRANVISTA accounts as described in the rules do not necessarily represent the views of GRANVISTA.
Operation
- Social media users should be aware of the significant impact that information posted by individuals can have.
- Social media users should keep in mind that information posted on the Internet is accessible by a large undefined number of users.
- Web page operation may be discontinued without prior notice.
Observation of laws and regulations
- Users of social media should not engage in any act that may violate copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights as well as rights relating to portraits and privacy.
- Sources and citations should be provided when comments, articles and the like from third parties are reproduced in social media.
Prohibitions
Accounts may be blocked or deleted if any of the acts outlined below are discovered in relation to the Company's web pages.
- Violation of laws/regulations or offense to public order and morals
- Defamation or damage to the reputation of GRANVISTA and its business establishments, employees, other users or other third parties
- Identity theft or false content
- Posting of information guiding users to external websites unrelated to the web pages in question
- Posting of information deemed to be inconsistent with the purposes of the web pages in question
- Misconduct as stipulated by social network service providers
- Political/election campaigning and religious acts
- Privacy violations such as the posting of personal information
- Use of information obtained from the web pages in question for profit
- Other acts deemed inappropriate by GRANVISTA
Intellectual property rights
Users shall transfer to GRANVISTA, without charge, the copyrights of all information and content relating to their posts on GRANVISTA websites (incl. SNS pages) or in e-mails and other submissions to GRANVISTA, and shall not assert the moral right of the author in regard to GRANVISTA's usage of such information and content.
Disclaimers
- GRANVISTA shall have no obligation to guarantee the accuracy, integrity or other aspects of information.
- GRANVISTA shall not be liable for damage resulting from the use or non-use of its web pages.
- GRANVISTA shall not be responsible for the content of customer posts (e.g., comments, photos and videos).
- GRANVISTA shall not be liable for any problems or conflicts that may arise between customers or between customers and third parties regarding its web pages.
- Although the copyright of posts and similar remains with customers who post them, the user, by the act of submitting a post, grants GRANVISTA all rights (including copyright) to use all or any portion of the post on a non-exclusive, royalty-free basis, including for the purposes of processing, duplication, publishing and translation. The user posting the content also agrees not to exercise the related copyright and other rights.
- As the Company’s web pages are operated under the systems of social network service providers, GRANVISTA is unable to respond to questions regarding related usage, technical issues, system status and the like.
- GRANVISTA reserves the right to change these rules without prior notice.
